You get to build your perfect space for reading and writing. What’s it like?

My perfect reading and writing space would be filled with natural light from large windows, creating a calm and inspiring atmosphere. The room would include a desk with a comfortable chair for focused writing, as well as a large bean bag that offers a relaxing option when I want to read or think more freely. I would also have both a typewriter and my MacBook, allowing me to switch between modern technology and a more traditional way of writing. This space would be comfortable, peaceful, and designed to encourage creativity.

How are you creative?

I am creative through arts, crafts and writing. Over the years, I’ve explored many creative outlets such as acting, photography, painting, and ceramics. But my creativity has been mostly expressed through writing, which has become my main way of expression.

When are you most happy?

I’m happiest when I feel good in my body and mind. Eating foods that give me energy and working out helps me feel clear headed, confident, strong and more like myself, especially compared to how I feel after a lot of junk food. I know happiness can’t come from just one thing, but taking care of myself plays a big role. I’m also happiest when I’m traveling, being in new places, experiencing new things, and breaking out of my routine really lifts my mood.

What skills or lessons have you learned recently?

One of the most important reoccurring lessons I’ve learned is not to take people’s behavior personally, while also recognizing that I don’t have to keep them in my life. Understanding that someone’s actions often reflect their own struggles has brought me peace, but peace doesn’t require access. Learning when to detach, set boundaries, and walk away has been just as valuable as learning not to internalize their behavior.

Is your life today what you pictured a year ago?

No, my life today is not what I pictured a year ago. Honestly, last year I didn’t know where I would be. I was stuck in a job I hated, feeling limited by a lack of education that made it seem impossible to move anywhere else or earn more money. I felt boxed in, uncertain, and discouraged.

Now, while my life still isn’t exactly where I want it to be, I’ve found myself in a job with a much healthier environment. That change alone has made a significant difference in how I feel day to day. It may not be the final destination, but it’s proof that movement is possible, even when the path forward isn’t clear.
